Three Really Good Bands For Three Really Good Reasons

First of all, let me tell you that Caroliner Rainbow Hernia Milk Queen are the most retarded band I've ever heard. I do not understand this band. Their music is the aural equivalent of an entire psychedelic band vomiting on a train which is spiralling out of control down a cliff where the bottom is littered with spikes and landmines and ten thousand fucking angry as hell mad rabid dogs who want to eat every rock and roll record ever made and destroy the convention of modern music by barking at high, high volumes and playing guitars with their paws.

Needless to say they are awesome. This music goes way back too. I mean waaaay back. One of their most well-known records, Rear End Hernia Puppet Show was released back in 1985. None of the albums have been sold digitally as CDs. You have to order the LPs via snail mail from their distributor Subterranean. Each record comes with a piece of trash inside of it. Absolutely essential.

Another great band at the moment is Slomo who make heavy, heavy, heavy death/drone/doom ambient. The Creep is one long, singular epic track that brings to mind SunnO))), Deathprod and Philip Jeck all at the same time. I don't know enough about this band, other than the fact that Julian Cope loves them and their are British. Sweet.

In the world of pop, Band of Horses are owning my stereo. Everything All the Time, their fantastic debut album, channels a pre-suck Shins and kicks their furry little indie ass. Repeatedly. Band of Horses is loud, beautiful indie rock that is the perfect soundtrack to my life right now. The record is cheap too, because it's on Sub Pop, and everyone knows how rich they are.
